On Sunday, April 3rd we had the amazing experience of sharing our products with the local community at our first-ever vending event. The warm welcome we received from this friendly, supportive environment was inspirational!
The Ubuntu Marketplace is a vending event hosted by Pan African Connection Bookstore in Dallas, TX every 1st and 3rd Sunday monthly from 12-5PM. Besides being amidst a sea of creative energy, we enjoyed connecting with customers, local entrepreneurs, artisans, chefs, poets, writers, and more in the large hall that is just adjacent to the bookstore.
Working Together as a Family
Because we are a 100% handmade, small batch company—this was definitely a family affair! My husband and I brought along our two sons—Bryant (20 months old) and Dominic (8 months old). They proudly took part in a day of healthy exploration, adventure, entrepreneurship, and socialization. The time we spend laughing, growing, and working together as a family is such a blessing and it was an honor to share this experience with them.
What's On Our Table
Our top seller was Sacred Beauty Whipped Body Butter.
In response to numerous inquires, products for natural hair growth and maintenance will be available in the coming weeks so stay tuned! Our collection is blossoming along with the energy of Spring, and we’ll be introducing more products at the next Ubuntu Marketplace event (Sunday April, 17th from 12-5PM). If you’re in the Dallas/Fort-Worth (DFW) area we’d love to see you there—and yes samples will be available!
Venue Spotlight: Pan-African Connection
Pan African Connection is so much more than a bookstore—it’s a family-owned, phenomenal collection of African art, literature, artifacts, drums, percussion, instruments, music, jewelry, incense, apparel, body care, and more! The store also hosts event weekly to support, educate and engage the local community.
We loved meeting the Akwete, the divinely inspired woman who owns the store. She visited our table to personally introduce herself, inquired about the products, and passionately expressed her desire to support our business. Her beauty and generous heart is reflected in the community she's created in this scared space. So when this sacred woman asked for my opinion on which bath salt she should purchase, I couldn't have been more honored to recommend our Sacred Beauty Bath Salt.
