#1: Love Yourself Fiercely!

Confidence begins with self-love.

Love simply means 'unconditional acceptance,' and loving yourself means accepting all of who you are without judgment.

It cannot be earned any more than mercy or grace, but is freely available to all through each person’s choice to accept it without imposing limits.

If you’re willing to challenge your inner critic, you can learn to see the beauty in your unique personality, quirks, strengths, physical appearance, gifts, skills, life story, and contributions of value throughout your journey of life.

To start, have compassion on yourself because let's face it—life doesn't come with an instruction manual. You are literally figuring this whole thing out day-by-day, so don't be so hard on yourself. 

Don't compare yourself to other people's standards of living because your uniqueness—your divine signature is too rare, wild, lovely, and brilliant to be contained in a prison of "shoulds."

Be unpologetically YOU, and say YES to the freedom in that acceptance!

#2: Balance Your Chakras

Chakras are energy centers throughout the body that correspond with different aspects of your being—physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. Though there are hundreds of chakras, I'd like to focus on 3 for this post: the root, sacral, and solar plexus chakras.

The root chakra governs your overall sense of safety, survival, and trust in this world. When the root is balanced, you have a firm foundation upon which to establish your core identity—values, beliefs, principle, and personality.

But, when the root is unbalanced, you can experience insecurity, mistrust in yourself and others, identity confusion, emotional reactivity, and people-pleasing behavior.

The sacral chakra governs the energy associated with your ability to feel, create, and express yourself authentically.

When the sacral chakra is balanced, you find ways to express your identity in creative ways, receive with joy and gratitude, and experience passion and pleasure through all 5 senses. 

But, when the sacral chakra is unbalanced, you're likely to experience creativity blocks, difficulty identifying or taking action on what your most passionate about, a decrease in your experience of physical pleasure, emotional hypersensitivity, and difficulty giving and receiving without feelings of shame and guilt.

The solar plexus chakra is supported by the root and sacra chakras. It's the seat of your divine willpower, joy, and courage.

When the solar plexus chakra is balanced, you experience the confidence to express your unique identity in the world despite the presence of fear, maintain healthy boundaries, and experience happiness, abundance, and fulfillment as a result of living in alignment with your values. 

When the solar plexus is unbalanced, you become susceptible low self-confidence, unhealthy boundaries due to a lack of assertiveness, the frustration of dreaming without taking inspired action, inauthenticity in how you show up, a belief in scarcity, anxiety, and depression.

#3: Toot Your Own Horn

Make a list of any achievements, wins, challenges you’ve overcome, and moments in your life when you were most proud of yourself. Print it out and post it on your wall. Use it remind yourself with actual evidence of how awesome you are, especially on the days when you don't feel at your best.

It’s okay to toot your own horn, and healthy to be your own cheerleader.

#4: See the Balance

Training yourself to be objective and see the balance that exists in all life will help you to increase your confidence, and maintain inner peace.

When we choose to see life in black-and-white or all-or-nothing—the resulting judgment and limitation only lead to self-rejection.

So here's an exercise to practice seeing the balance in your experiences.

Grab a blank sheet of paper, and draw a vertical line from top to bottom.

On the left side, list things that you don’t like about yourself or others in your life. On the right, list one benefit for each item that you mentioned on the left.

Teach yourself to see that there is always something to be grateful for. There is always something worthy of acceptance in every moment of life—no matter how bad it seems.

#5: Know Your 'Why'

It is very difficult to maintain a high confidence level when you don't know your purpose because many of your decisions are likely to bring about unfulfillment.

When you know what you’re most inspired by align yourself with it—self-love is a natural result.
